I’m your nerd host, Chris Hardwick
Nerdist is a place where we nerds come together and share the nerdery that we find. It's also my home to various elements of the Nerdist Empire. You might recognize me from TV. You don't realize that's where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin's friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled upon me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV's "Singled Out" and Noam Chomsky's "Shipmates." and so much more...

Adios Turd-Nuggets!!!
I do love Joel Moore but…no Hostful?
Note: Hentai is simply animated or drawn Japanese porn. Tentacle porn is called Tentacle porn, if you had gone as that costume, Chris, you would have been a “Hentacle.”
Matt’s Fire-Fox joke made almost made me pass out from laughing.
Just finished the episode.
Yeah there was a little metallic sound at the start that gave you a robot voice Chris.
Sailor Moon, that brings back some memories, I was around 6 back in ’97 when they showed this with Sonic the Hedgehog on USA.
Yeah his name is Tuxedo Mask. I remember so much of this.
Loved this episode too. Joel is really funny.
There’s not hostful because I’m in London. While the guested eps can be spread out over time, we try to record the hostfuls the week they go up, just to keep them current. So, it’s my fault, really! But Joel is a terrific replacement for an hour of just myself and the young ladies talking at each other. Back next week!
Waiting for the episode where Jonah and Chris finally go off on Matt for not turning off his phone is what it was like waiting for Walter to kill Gus on Breaking bad.
The payoff is going to be amazing.
Matt, my dad helped work on some of the distribution of Sky Captain. I actually really liked that movie. But on another note, great episode. Enjoyed listening.
In Revenge of the Nerds 2 Lewis sent a text message from his car. He had to use a typewriter and a satellite. I always got Foxfire confused with Firefox.
The binkies were a rave thing. Ecstacy=jaw grinding=immense jaw pain next day. This is averted most often in raves with gum or pot candy to keep the mouth busy. However, pacifiers have been used and were quite trendy in the scene for the same purpose.
That’s the origin as far as I can trace it in Central California.
This was amazing and awesome. Love the stories about avatar, and the porn parody stuff is something you can’t un-hear. Yeah!!!
I love this!!! Love remembering all the trends. :3
Also love the whole Sailor Moon, and Nirvana ref (while talking about Jewish graveyard)
Yes, Bobcat does have the “Chinese Cymbal” tattoo. It used to be posted on the Bob and Tom website.
Chris will you be doing a show while your in london?
Actually, there *is* a movie called “Firefox,” in which a PTSD-addled Clint Eastwood occasionally crashes because he forgets to think in Russian.
I really appreciate an episode that references Halloween in December. It servers to further stoke my desire to add a nativity scene in my front yard complete with a zombie in the manager.
I hereby nominate H’wick for host of the Sci/Tech Academy Awards! They may not be Avatar-level, but cool shit gets invented for movies all the time. Kubrick’s developing low-light cameras to shoot Barry Lyndon in natural/candlelight comes immediately to mind.
Nirvana came and went. Good old Nirvana. Tear down the mainstream!!!!
sorry if I missed it, (listened while at work) but wish you guys had talked about Grandma’s Boy a little!! F’n hilarious movie! Great job though, keep the great podcasts coming!
Fun episode. The Apple fanboy-ism was of course insanely over-the-top, as usual (you call yourself nerds…), but otherwise always fun to hear you guys with whoever you have in the room.
Chris, I only gave up my deeply beloved Treo 750w this year. 2011.
It had a freaking awesome GPS ap I could use WHILE talking on the phone, AND sending an email at the same time. Also, removable memory card for music. Word.
It was super clunky, and the screen was small. But it was touch screen, the battery lasted forever, and the buttons were actually easier to use than the screen keyboard on my Droid phone.
I love my amazing new space-age phone, but am still frustrated at having to quit one application to do another (and to manually kill aps).
Ok, sorry for the passionate phone geek out. I work for myself, and that bit of tech has been a cornerstone of my very reason for living for some time.
I thought I was the only person that saw Looker. My prepubescent self ran accross it on VHS taped off of cable. Nerdy, sci-fi, and a slowmoable scene of scanning a naked woman into the computer. Man I wanted Poser (the software) to be able to do that.
Loving the Foxfire references so hard! One of my all-time favorite movies.
Correction; _white_ Americans can get away with any crime.
