  • My favorite meromy was the first time I attended my first show at the Phoenix, “Urinetown the Musical.” I went in with high hopes, and was not let down! Such a hilarious show, and the actors had the most PERFECT comedic timing. All of a sudden, during the song “Follow Your Heart,” sung between Hope and Bobby, the romantic leads were joined in a song by a BIRD that had somehow entered the theater and was flying all over the theater. At first, we were all laughing because we thought perhaps the bird was a part of the show—why not? The actors reacted so perfectly to the bird—they improvised a little bit of dialogue about it, which made the audience laugh even harder. Finally, the bird landed somewhere that it liked apparently, because it seemed to stay put. They continued the song until the most “romantic” part of the song, when all of a sudden the bird swooped in as close as possible to Hope and Bobby, bringing the audience to tears! I’ve never laughed so hard in my LIFE, and the way that the actors dealt with it was brilliant!
