Race War Chess Set

This feels wrong for some reason, but I guess it isn’t. It’s not racist, as both sides are represented equally. The only message you could derive from it is that every race only keeps animals of the same color. In any case, it’s an interesting civilian twist on the old Civil War chess set. I used to collect chess sets, but I think I’ll let this one go…

The board is not position right … turn it 90 degrees. Always have a white square at your right hand.
That’s nothing, they also made a checker set that’s black pieces vs Mexicans.
Your “white is always right” rule fits well with the overall theme of the board.

If it’s not racist, then why does white ALWAYS get to move first.

I think it is kind of neat in an “artsy” kind of way. I like how it makes people uncomfortable in a way they can’t identify. It’s like a legal left on a oneway. I’d buy it.

Unless it’s because of the angle that you shot it from, it bothers me that the black king and queen each have their arm raised in anger (I think the queen is even holding a knife), while their white counterparts have their arms at their sides.
That chess set should go into the dollhouse, where creepy things belong

I bet that was a hit right after the Civil War ended.
Having a black father, and a white mother, I have “mixed” feelings about that Chess set.
Hopefully now that he’s done with Real Steel, Hugh Jackman can take on the murky, dangerous world of underground racist robot chess. The game you thought you knew…will never be the same.
