Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of “Why You Should Move to LA”, and if you live in LA, another edition of “What You’ll Be Doing This Week”! We have some fun free events and amazing shows this week, so let’s dig in.
Tonight, Friday June 10th at 7pm, we welcome the PS Nation Podcast LIVE!
Winding down E3, we have the guys from this popular Playstation-centric podcast here to weave their podcast magic all over our stage. Scheduled to appear: David Jaffe, the man behind the God of War and Twisted Metal series.
$10, buy your tickets here while you can!
Join Jimmy Dore and a celebrity panel as they make fun of other celebrities, today’s news makers, and our favorite cultural jackasses, with a raucous blend of Stand-up, Sketch, and Video clips of people saying some of he dumbest shit you’ve ever heard. A hilarious night of Laughs, blasphemy and general disrespect! This month’s guests include Paul Gilmartin and Frank Conniff.
Tickets are $10 and they are available here!
Sunday June 12th is packed at NerdMelt. First up, at 12pm, we have a FREE Analog Playset Release Party!
Meet Wrecks and Dazey. Wrecks is a lovable T-Rex, and Dazey is his prehistoric oversized bee pal. On Sunday, we invite you to take them home, because we’re hosting the launch of the first toy release from Analog Playset! The toys, designed by Joe Ledbetter, were featured on the album “My Dinosaur Life” from Motion City Soundtrack, and an inspiration for the album. Join us for an exclusive acoustic set from Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack, followed by a chance to buy these awesome toys and get them signed by Joe Ledbetter!
Spend your Sunday afternoons learning from the best at the Nerdist Writing Series! Join moderator Ben Blacker as he hosts esteemed panelists discussing topics like different types of writing, how they got started, what inspires them, the business side of writing, and more. Panelists will also answer your questions and give some helpful tips and tricks! This series is a must for any hopeful writer in LA, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit 826LA.
Scheduled to appear: Ben Edlund (The Tick; Angel; Supernatural), Amy Berg (Eureka), and Angelina Burnett (Starz’s Boss; Memphis Beat).
$15 and the tickets are going fast.
Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.
7pm signup, show shortly thereafter- FREE!
Jeff Garlin has a lot to say, so on June 13th, he’ll get an entire night to himself at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown. Come and see Garlin, star of Curb Your Enthusiasm, as he shows you the side-splitting results of a 25 year career in standup comedy.
Tickets are $10 and they will most likely sell out, so please get yours now.
