NPH Crushes at Tony Awards
by Chris Hardwick on June 13, 2011
I can’t remember someone crushing so hard at an awards show. NPH RULES. He should host everything. Except the stuff I’m hosting, because I need to be able to support my tech early adopterism habit.

Does that man ever age? I suspect robot.
…get him on the podcast? That’d be damn cool.
def get him on the podcast! He’s the best!
Does anyone not love him? And if so, why? How?
And NPH just rolling with it when Brooke flubbed her piece? A pro. Why wouldn’t you ask him to host the Oscars?
I noticed that musical he’s in, “Company” is screening via Cineplex and a few other cinemas. With a cast of Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Hendricks, I’m curious.

PS – Also awesome? Dan Fielding. Tony Winner.
The entire night was amazing because of him…NPH should rule the world: everyone would be so much happier. And agreed with those other people, you should definitely try to get him on the podcast
That was outstanding!!
John Hamm & Mary Lynn Rajskub in the crowd shots?
Neil has agreed to come on the podcast, it’s all just scheduling. He’s a tough one to pin down (no sexy pun intended). Someday, it will happen, Nerdlings!!
It’s not often that I openly applaud a YouTube video while alone at my computer, but it felt necessary. Can’t wait to hear him on the podcast!
…You are amazing. Can’t wait
You should totally do an elaborate musical number for your Nerdist tv pilot. and put Phirm on it! I’m sure it would be brilliant!
We need a new word for how awesome that is. PerSplectaTive.
Nice job Neil funny and awesome in one!
Excellent news about NPH on podcast! SCORE.
Has the opening number at an awards ceremony ever been nominated for an award the next year? Should happen.
And something in my brain is suddenly equating NPH with the late great Ronnie Barker (for all you Brits or britophiles out there). He’s just so versatile in drama/comedy/music.
Wow, this is great actually! I find How I Met Your Mother incredibly unfunny [just like 90% of sitcoms], so I didn’t really care much about NPH, but this was superawesome!
Everyone seen the NPH and Hugh Jackman Host-Off

Epic As Well.
“Al Pacino!? Your far too famous to take part in this bit”
I don’t care if that was scripted, it was brilliant.
Am i the only one who thinks Kevin Pereira has a similar persona to NPH?
NPH on the nerdist? oh man thats so awesome! NPH is one of the coolest people in the history of ever. I totes can’t agree with ya on that one pat T. don’t get me wrong kevin pereira is funny and alright and all that but hes no nph. lets be honest here…if pereira and nph were both in the same room with you and both were in tears which one are you gonna go hug? nph hands down.
It’s not just for gays anymore! Too bad all the straight men in the US were watching basketball. Ah well.
He also did well with the rap at the end and singing in Company. He has way too much talent for one dude.
That was brilliant! I am sorry I missed the show. Alternate means, here I come!
Neil Patrick Harris is like unto a god. A singing, dancing, comic-timing-genius of a god. He makes me proud to be a human, as any self-respecting god should.
His presence on the podcast cannot arrive soon enough. Kudos to you, Mr. Hardwick, for making this happen.
Just got back from seeing Chris live at Arlington Draft House… 2.5 hr drive, got there 2.5 hours early bc i somehow thought it started at 8 and i was trying to be early for THAT. no matter, it was super worth it. everybody was amazing that night!
I wanted to stay and get a picture with Chris to prove the existence of the Black Nerdist demographic
but my roommate wanted to dip out so we could make it home before the sun. Bummer. Regardless, SO MUCH FUN. #worththe5hrdrive
shoutout to the pregnant lady who wouldn’t let Chris touch her lol the impromptu bit that came out of that was gold all around <3
OMG, that was unbelievable. NPH is amazing. He may have actually convinced me to give it a try, and check out a show. First, I just have to get a second mortgage.
