This Week at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown!

It’s Friday, so it’s another chance for you to get caught up on all the amazing things that are happening at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown this week.

On Saturday, May 7th, Meltdown Comics and NerdMelt celebrate Free Comic Book Day! For those of you under some kind of lame rock, every year on the first Saturday in May, comic book stores across North America give away comic books absolutely free, and Meltdown Comics is no different. They have a ton of events planned all day- signings, a screening of Dark Crystal, comic book classes for kids, and more more more! Details here!

Then on Sunday, May 8th, it’s time for Matt Mira’s Day Off. Mira needs a day off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Starting this Sunday, come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host comics of all types as they test out material never before said out loud. Also, if you’re a comic, come and test out your newest material on the Nerdist Theater at Meltdown stage! It’ll be a blast.

7:30 for signup, show at 8pm! FREE!

Wednesday, May 11th, it’s time for yet another edition of The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, our weekly standup showcase. This week, the boys welcome Matt Besser, Sean Patton, and Patton Oswalt.

Just $8! Get your tickets here!

Finally, on Thursday, May 12th at 8pm, get all of your best Australian cliches together, because Chris, Jonah, and Matt are doing another live Nerdist podcast at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown. This time, they are joined by Australian megastar Rove McManus, best known for hosting his own variety show Rove and for his tireless work as a comedian. Enjoy your shrimp on the barbie! Special appearance by Aussie band Axis of Awesome, who will be performing a couple of songs in preparation for their big show at Largo on May 19!

It’s a steal at $10, and the tickets are going fast here!

As always, you can check out all of our upcoming shows at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown here, our upcoming Nerdist Writers series here, and you can follow us on Twitter to constantly be inside our heads.

We love you.
