My Mom Sent Me a Folk Rendition of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Theme Song
by Becca Gleason on April 6, 2011
If there’s a stereotype about white girls, it’s that they can’t rap. As much as this bums me out since I love rapping, my lack of rhythm and general swag puts a damper on my future hip hop career. We have to discover alternatives. Today, my mom showed me Kay Pettigrew. She changed a classic 90′s rap theme song into a beautifully arranged folk extravaganza!
I almost wish the title of the video didn’t tell you what you’re about to hear. I’m positive it would have taken me at least 20 seconds before I figured out she was covering I Am Legend.

AMAZING!!!
Haha omg I love this
I saw Jimmy Fallon do this song as Neil Young. It was pretty epic.
yet another thing ruined… sigh.
that was beautiful. i want more!
I’d agree with chris, as adorable as this was it doesn’t quite meet the epic win that was jimmy fallon as neil young…or jimmy fallon as neil young and bruce springsteen as a young bruce springsteen doing whip my hair, oh jimmy you slay me!
Part of me died when I heard this. This should be on Portlandia.
