Steampunk Dalek
by Chris Hardwick on February 14, 2011

I mean, how could you not want this li’l guy EX. TERRR. MINATE.-ing his way through your Victorian streets? Powered by steam and hate, this valve-tastic creation would make even Davros proud.

BEST DALEK EVA.
WIN.
That is all.
There should be an all-steampunk episode of Doctor Who with this Dalek.
:3
I AM YOUR SOLJAAAA
Steampunk Daleks vs Steampunk Cybermen? Oh YES!
EXTERMINATE! EXTERMIN*whistle blow*….ATE!
This picture made my week.
That. Is. Awesome!
What is the story behind it….besides wanting to take over the galaxy and whatnot?
hey chris,april o’ neil(undeux on twitter)is a bitch,she’s not a good person person at all,just a crooked teeth bitch.
I saw the first half of this image and immediately thought it was a Dalek expresso machine.
aren’t daleks and time lorts the epitome of steam punk
hey chris,april o’ neil(undeux on twitter)is a bitch,she’s not a good person at all,just a crooked teeth bitch.
Awesome!
How large is this thing and does it actually run? I mean can I fire up the Dalek and watch him role down the street?
In case anyone is wondering, THIS is how you do SteamPunk.
Add a valve to something and suddenly it’s “steampunk”? Where are the GEARS, man?
A!
DOR!
ABLE!
Nice, but the piston should be attached off centre, or it’s not going to turn the wheel.
Too bad the piston design in incorrect. It should be offset to the axle
The wheel’s wouldn’t turn with that design
the wheels wouldn’t turn with that design
Fantastic! How much is it? And how tall is it? Weight?
You have to love the people who, rather than at least acknowledge it is a fine piece of work, feel the need to point out design flaws…
As in almost all steampunk it is a sculpture that evokes a feeling and sensibility rather than some kind of working marvel based on late 1800′s technology. There’s a reason that those technologies fell by the wayside.
It’s a rather attractive sculpture.
Looks like it even has a chimney sweep attachment. Super Steampunkarific!
gak I hate steam punk
Brent is right. It will not work with the drive piston connected direct to the axle. It has to be offset.
Sean and Brent that is. It is only cool if it works unless you live in la-la land.
Piston fail.
Maybe the piston merely stores pressurized gas and releases it as something inside the hollow axle operates something else underneath that makes the hidden gears turn the axle and thus the wheels.
