Play MindFlex While Wearing Your Jean Grey Cosplay Outfit

I know I’ve said before that given a choice of superpowers, I’d take teleportation. I stand by that choice, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t love to have telekinesis too. You could move objects with your mind at high speeds, you could levitate yourself and hang in the air…in short, you could be the greatest pro athlete ever. In pretty much any sport. The only sport I can think of where it wouldn’t help would be swimming. Your records are safe, Michael Phelps…for now.
Of course, I don’t have superpowers. And if I did, do you think I’d just go around telling people about them on blogs?
Okay, I probably would. Moving on…
This is the MindFlex from Mattel. It’s the precursor to the Star Wars Force Trainer that I mentioned in a previous post, and honestly I think this one is even cooler in concept (you can still pretend you’re a Jedi, it’s okay). The fan on the toy is controlled by your brain through sensors that measure your level of concentration. Once you have the ball in the air, you carefully turn the knob to move the ball horizontally through the customizable “obstacle course”.
It’s a neat toy, but it lacks a certain…je ne sais quoi. And by “je ne sais quoi”, I mean electrical shock.
The techies/evil jerks over at Harcos Labs modified the MindFlex a few months ago in order to up the ante. The result is a device that gives increasing levels of electric shock the more you concentrate.
Boy, it would’ve been great if they had put that thing on unsuspecting users and then videotaped it. OH WAIT THEY DID.
