Be a Nerdist Contributor!

In the coming months I’ll be blowing out the site in different ways in the name of progress. It was always my intention to get this thing up and running and then have other regular contributors. Initially I wanted a Music Nerdist (Jonah Ray did a few posts), a Movie Nerdist, Gadget Nerdist, and so on.
I would now like to put out the feelers for fresh writing talent. If you’re a blogger, writer, artist, nerdy/creative type and would like to become part of the Nerdist Empire please submit your snark and preferably samples of your writing to [email protected] subject: Contributor! No, there’s no real money in it. Yes, a lot of people will see your work. No, you don’t have to have sex with me to get the job. Yes, it will take me some time to sort through the submissions.
I feel like what we do here is superfun and if you’d like to come onboard and embrace the philosophy of letting people know about cool stuff in a preferably comedic voice just cuz that’s how the Internet should work, then I’d love to hear from you!

I’m really stoked to see where this goes. I’d love to see some movie/music/gadget banter from a nerdist-type perspective.

How about some kind of sex bracket, where Potentials are matched up against each other in sex contests, with the ultimate winner getting the opportunity to wind up on the casting couch for an interview…or more like “enter”view.

This is such an awesome freakin’ idea. I’m really excited that this is happening, even if my submission doesn’t get picked. I mean, the website is already fantastic but I can see how implementing this will make one big nerdtastic site. The nerd’s one-stop shop, if you will.

about time the nerdist of nerds puts out a “calling all nerds”. This is exactly what i’ve been waiting for since i was a kid. Not chris hardwick specifically, but a nerd to come forward and sound the battle cry, to bring us all together and expand the nerd-dom of the internet. HUZZAH
What the fuck is a snark? Wikipedia was no help, the internet has failed me!!! Am I just clearly not enough of a nerd to be involved in this whole shabang if I don’t know what a snark is?
What about snorks? Snorks I know about. I could write a book on snorks. I use fish as my primary mode of transportation and often find myself shouting out “A-Oooo-Ga” during sex, so don’t tell me I don’t know about snorks.
Seriously though… snark? Please help.

Daphinie, thanks for the info. I saw a link to urbandictionary when I googled “snark”, but skipped over it as I assumed (based on previous experience) that the definition given there would be 100% about insane and inane sexual acts.
Let me also say that I live in a small town in Alaska, and have no access to this G4 channel I hear tell of. I have watched some web soup on YouTube, and I religiously download the Nerdist Podcast, but have yet to hear the term snark… until now.
