Los Muppets: ¡Ricas Frutas!
by Chris Hardwick on December 17, 2009
I first saw Mexi-me Street over a decade ago and thought I had fallen through some kind of rift into a Spanish dimension. I mean, they LOOK like Muppets, but not any ones I knew. And their version of Big Bird looks like a damn piñata on an Acapulcan cruise ship.
In any event, I think I like this song. Unironically. And I CERTAINLY enjoy Mexican David Cross crooning out the fruit tunes.
If you’re a Cauc who’s looking for an inexpensive way to learn Spanish, “Plaza Sesamo” might be a fun way to go.

There you go with that “cauc” word again! LOL! That was kinda fun. Yeah, their big bird is certainly colorful. Kinda like a rainbow exploded onto his feathers. Thanks for posting this!
But the real question is, where are the Mexican Fraggles and Doozers?
Somebody has a new ringtone!
“David Cross” is Aleks Syntek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleks_Syntek) Very prolific & successful Mexican artist, composer, musician, singer, actor.
I grew up in Mexico but always watched American Sesame Street. The green “big bird” of Plaza Sésamo kinda weirded me out. And hey, I learned English by watching the American version
watching it with the sound off changes it completely. it’s like something from a fever dream
I thought regular Sesame Street taught people Spanish?
It’s like bizzaro world for SS. I love my fruits!
omg when big bird came on screen i actually laughed out loud. thank you for this.
this video turned my world upside there big bird is so colorful
