Nerdist Bidness Cards: THE RESULTS

by Chris Hardwick on November 16, 2009

The challenge was dropped…and YOU responded. The results were way beyond my expectations. I mean, there is some seriously kick-ass art-tasticness here. I received 158 submissions, all of which I will use when I order my new business cards from moo this week.

If you don’t want to view these as a slideshow because you’re a mover/shaker type with a lilt in your step and a neverending stream of important time-sensitive destinations, you can view the whole set here.

Many of you didn’t include anything other than your email addresses, so it would be great if you would go into the Flickr comments for each of your pieces and leave any info you want the world to know about you.

I sincerely can’t thank you all enough. Your talent is only exceeded by your generosity. Web Culture RULES!!!

My vote goes to the old school microchip card

Thanks for using my design, sorry that it looks like it turned pix-elated… :(

That’s a better resolution and version of the card I sent you.

Wow, those are all really amazing! I’m kinda sorry I didn’t try to make one. That’s so cool that you got such a huge response. Well done on everyone’s part.

Hunter Boone November 16, 2009 at 10:37 am

I emailed the stuff@nerdist.com address with a psd version of mine, don’t want you to waste money on a pixelated business card.

Moo cards are very cool!

Radd November 16, 2009 at 10:41 am

…alot of those cards look like they were drawn by a 5 year old.

gigglechick November 16, 2009 at 10:45 am

wow you can really tell you just accepted everyone who applied… there was only one i liked, two at most i would have used. the majority are amateurish, provide no info, and some are even offensive. i wouldn’t even call them business cards. sorry your fans suck.

Gotta say the space invader one was pretty badass..but so were like all of them! Top pics are the space invaders, the jedi-Sith Chris one, the nerdist_card_cjp (it has the Mooninites in the font!), 3x1minus1-nerdist (love the green and blue) and Chris_Hardwick_card, the red one with the little white bracket (it’s like you write your stuff in there, depending on who you give it to)

Card43 with the handwriting exercise is just brilliant!

John Gundich November 16, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Thanks again for doing this, Chris. It was fun to contribute. Enjoy handing them all out.

Deltus November 16, 2009 at 1:03 pm

Some of those were just awesome. There seemed to be a bunch from the one person, though. Who was that person, and how many did they submit to you?

Charlie November 16, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Man this event was really cool.
anybody else like the Devils Whisper Album cover?
all me baby

Julia November 16, 2009 at 1:54 pm

They all look amazing! :D I wish I had known about this sooner. I would have made one. It would have been amazing to have my art on a business card!

Baz November 16, 2009 at 5:22 pm

there should be one of him puking up a bunch of technology & big sophisticated words.

smartbunny November 16, 2009 at 7:40 pm

With moo, you put info on the back, so the front can just be a picture. Just saying. To the haterz.

Jen November 16, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Love it! It was definitely fun to contribute and it gave me something to do. Awesome.

hope you like it.

I dont have a flickr account or id say it there.

this was a cool contest. though, it was the type where everyone wins like in the special olympics.

Dan November 17, 2009 at 8:40 am

yeah this was a really cool thing you did.
there were so many i liked.

btw i can already see many of these as t shirts?? because you’d have to admit…that would be awesome.

sarah November 17, 2009 at 9:09 am

the 3x1minus1-nerdist one is mine — it’s in the pool twice, it must be that good. ^_^

fun challenge!

Mary November 17, 2009 at 3:03 pm

I just received your note in the mail today. That was really awesome of you to hand write a card . Not many people would take the time to do that. And that’s why you’re ace. Thanks again.

Chris November 19, 2009 at 10:17 am

I did this one:

but NASA did most of the hard work.
