"Rapey Turtles"

by Chris Hardwick on July 22, 2009

Now, I realize that putting an ad for my own show on my site is slightly too much self-promotion, but I genuinely love this ad. I don’t know who made it or when it went live on the Webs but I fully applaud any piece of promotional material that utilizes the term “rapey turtles.”

Well done, person at G4.

It’s been on TV for at least 2 weeks now. FYI.

Deon July 22, 2009 at 9:37 am

Now that’s hilarious. Especially the sad music. . .

Ian Muir July 22, 2009 at 9:38 am

That was wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I humped my own shoe.

You’re welcome, world.

jessicarabbit July 22, 2009 at 10:25 am

I’m not normally a fan of anything “rapey” … but you’re making me reconsider.

Sean July 22, 2009 at 10:58 am

The music makes it sound like one of those commercials for an animal shelter. Case in point, http://bit.ly/eLgVL

Your welcome.

“Rapey Turtles” is my favorite indie band. And my all time favorite type of reptile.

is something very calming about the audio and Chris Hardwick at the end.

Pretty epic. Epic enough that I felt compelled to comment. I’m not sure if I have ever heard rape in the verb(?)/adjective(?) sense, but I fully approve and am going to start sprinkling it generously throughout all of my conversations.

Deltus July 27, 2009 at 7:23 am

? It’s not too much promotion. And that ad is hilarious! Who doesn’t love a good nut shot with nunchuks vid?

ultimatenerd22 July 27, 2009 at 2:17 pm

I just want you to know, Mr. Chris Hardwick, that this last Sunday’s “Things You Can’t Un-See”, the one with the guy eating pubic hair, has scared me for life. I keep gargling and trying to rinse my mouth of the awful possibilities that come with eating pubic hair, and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.

So… thanks for that. Other than my doomed mental state, I really like the new show.
