Joel McHale's New Show Looks Fantastic

by Chris Hardwick on May 4, 2009

I think we can all agree that Joel is phenomenal on “The Soup.” But there is not doubt that he will soon own a shiny chunk of Hollywood with some kick-ass new projects this Fall. First, McHale will pop up in The Informant, directed by a guy named Steven Soderbergh. Nextly, his NBC show, “Community,” just got picked up and looks nothing short of hilarious. (Come back for Chevy Chase? I hope so.) Check out the trailer below.

Joel is literally one of the nicest, funniest guys you could meet and I fully support the success of nice, funny people. AND SO SHOULD YOU!!!

Whatever happened to “The IT crowd” or whatever it was called?

NBC, lose the schmoozy music! That was hilarious!

Can’t wait. The much needed device to usher both McHale and Chase (back) into America’s homes.

Now who picked up the Norm MacDonald pilot?

The show looks promising but what will happen to The Soup?

Did that guy just call him “Seacrest”?

Ooooh, it burrrrrrns.

Don’t forget, it also stars the guy from the Blackberry commercial with the talking butt and the McDonald’s snack wrap commercial in which he’s very decisive.

Thanks for the opinion.

Epic.

That does look really really good. I was a little afraid that his acting chops would be a little lacking, but as far as the trailers go, he seems pretty good. What’s most amusing about this whole thing is that I am going back to Community College right now to take some classes and this should hit home nicely.

Thanks for the information and I hope I don’t see too much of myself in McHales character, that would be just too damn pathetic.

Well, ultimatenerd22, thanks for the completely off-topic and self-promoting link in the comments there. And by thanks, I mean “you’ve proven yourself to be a douchebag”. I might just DRDOS your domain on general principle. I shall mull it over, and see how malevolent I’m feeling in an hour or so.

Wow. This looks like an intelligent, funny, worthy-of-my-attention show. Usually this means it will be cancelled after the first season.
Here’s wishing success for it instead!

looks funny. We dig McHale. He’s that dangerous combination of cute and funny…much like you.

When do you get your network show?!?! We’d watch that!

This show appears to take two things that I enjoy (Joel McHale and laughing at stuff) and mix them up like so much delicious brownie batter!

I can’t wait to set my DVR to record it while I waste away at work while it airs!
