Marty Feldman Covers Tom Lehrer

by Chris Hardwick on February 10, 2009

If you don’t recognize the two names in the title of this post then this obviously will not have the brain-melting effect on you that it had on me and you’ll probably be bored by it. Personally, I was floored. I’m not sure why I was so blown away by this…I guess it never occurred to me that Marty Feldman could cover a Tom Lehrer song. In any case, I’m just glad it exists and I feel it’s my duty to bring stuff like this to the Nerdist community.

Oh, thank you for this. It’s quite possibly the neatest thing I’ve seen today. :-)

Holy crap it’s Igor from Young Frankenstein!
…and men in nun costumes.
….and a midget in a priest (?) outift.

Seems pretty normal to me.

I was watching Young Frankenstein today, recognizing that nobody can pull off the physical comedy like Feldman, Ritter and Conway did.

It was always subtle and respectful of the artform, whereas Jim Carey always takes it overboard. Love Jim, just different.

Hmmmm.. Those habits look awfully Anglican to me…

This is the greatest thing in the history of ever!

(I shall now take this opportunity to tell a story about me: When I was in second grade I got in trouble for singing The Masochism Tango to myself in class. It took me years to figure out what I’d done wrong.)

Next time I am at a party, I am busting out some of those Feldman moves!

Don’t know Tom Lehrer but I always enjoy a good Marty Feldman bit.

I like the original version more. Also the Elements is a Better Song.

That was fantastic. Great version of the Vatican Rag.
