New MacBooks [Double Question Mark]

by Chris Hardwick on September 17, 2008

PowerbookI had thought it was odd that the rumor carnival that preceded Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event last week failed to include any chatter about a refreshed MacBook. They’re about due, and I had heard “Fall of This Year.” Lo and behold, today there is the much anticipated chatter. I spotted this Mac rumor on MacRumors, although I was told by someone that it also appeared on PerezHilton, but was unable to find the posting to see if there was a MacBook with a wiener drawn on it.

So far the specs are sketchy but the general consensus is that they might resemble the wafer-thin (pronounced /wah-ferthin/) Air in sleekness and aluminumnity, a fun new word I just made up.

At least this update will have cut & paste.

oh boy something new for me to want and not be able to afford! huzzah and sigh… damn you, stock market crash fall-out!

unless the “aggressive entry-level price point” is like…$100, that is. I could go as high as $150 maybe.

i’ll just have to live vicariously thru this blog, methinks.

I don’t even know why I wrote “09.” It was late. I just took it out altogether. For shame…

Supposedly the new macbooks and pros might have a glass trackpad. I highly doubt they will but there have been some pretty cool mock ups on gizmodo and engadget. It seems kind of pointless but if they made it a touch screen trackpad, it would be cool to have a few icons to quick launch some apps of your choice. Hey Hardwick, are you a member of torrentleech? Hit me up if you need an invite.

Let’s hope they keep up the awesomeness that Macbooks always have. Oh, and CUT AND PASTE FTW!
